How to find the lost file in a system?

             Let us see how to find the lost file in the system.

First, click start button and choose search option. In search option,it shows one box ‘what do you want to search for’?. In that box, choose For FileorFolders.

              Here it shows Search by any or all of the criteria below with its options.

1. If you don’t the name of the file, but you know what kind of file it is? Whether it may be  *.doc,Excel*.xls,Acrobat*.pdf,*.ppt,*.exe etc..

Choose the file option and enter the type of file you have lost in first option. This is one of the way to search the file.

2.OR Whether you forget the name of the file or you don’t know in what format you have saved the file.(i.e) in *.doc or*.txt format file. 

                   

         

            Then You can search the file if you have remembered any of the text in the file. Use the second option to search By giving any content in the file you can search the file .

3. IF you know the location of the file saved in the drive, then you can search by giving that drive alone. In LOOKIN option, give the drive Letter and search  else use the list box to choose the drive option like c:,d:,etc..

4. If you know the date of the file saved, then you can search the file by giving the date.

                       These are all the simple ways to search the file. If you do so, you can get the file in any of the options.
